11th Annual Los Angeles Pottery Show

Doyenne of California Pottery, Barbara Willis will be retiring after this year's show.
Pasadena, Calif. - The 11th Annual Los Angeles Pottery Show will fire up Jan. 23 - 24, 2010, presenting 22,000 square feet of collectible art pottery and tile from yesterday, today and tomorrow. Over 100 dealers will offer vintage art pottery from makers like Bauer, Catalina and Roseville plus selected contemporary potteries.

Verbal appraisals will be offered by noted pottery authorities and auctioneers David Rago & Suzanne Perrault from RagoArts. All proceeds generated from the appraisals will be donated to the pottery classes at Homeboy Industries, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting troubled gang members.

This year marks a milestone as long-time dealer, Barbara Willis, will be retiring at the age of 92. Willis is described as a legend in California pottery circles, with a history going back to studying ceramics at UCLA in the 1940s. Family and friends will join Willis in her booth to sell all of her current inventory, unfinished starts and her kiln. Barbara will also be available to autograph Jack Chipman's book "Classic California Modernism".
