Planes, Trains & Automobiles

The Tillamook Air Museum in Tillamook, Ore. will host its annual Planes, Trains & Automobiles event on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008. Guests are invited to fly in, cruise in or walk in to a fun-filled day celebrating planes, trains and cars from America's history. Patrons can also enjoy live music, a beer garden, wine tasting and food.

Participants may register to display their antique or classic, hot rod, street machine, muscle car or other interesting car, cycle or airplane.

The Tillamook Police Dept. and Police Cadets will also host a Pancake Breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m at the Air Base Cafe, located inside the musuem's main hangar, and a Dog House Stand from 11a.m. to 3 p.m.

This event is free and open to the public, with all proceeds benefiting the Special Olympics.

The Tillamook Air Museum's permanent exhibits include over 30 war birds and other aircraft, and many rare historical wartime and aviation artifacts.

The Air Museum is located at 6030 Hangar Road, Tillamook, Ore. 97141. General admission during regular museum hours is $11.50, seniors (65+) are $10.50, youth (6-17) $ 7 and children under 6 are free.Registration and other information can be found at www.tillamookair.com or by calling (503) 842-1130.
