The show features over 1000 exhibitor booths selling restored turn-of-the-century furniture, antique toys, Victorian decor, vintage clothing, garden antiques, wacky memorabilia, estate jewelry and more. If you can remember the days when your milk magically showed up in the box on your front porch - the show has a fun and memorable display for this year. From the 1880s, when milk and dairy products were delivered by wagon, to the 1970s when you could still get home delivery from a milk truck, dairy farms were an integral part of our lives as we grew up. Portland's rolling landscape, as well as an abundance of lush pastureland and the moderate climate are all ideal conditions for raising milk cows, and they contributed to the success of the local dairy farmers and the milk companies. Now you can see an outstanding display of these items at the Portland Expo Antique & Collectible Show, with items from the colorful packaging for milk and dairy products to beautiful lithographic advertising posters and other items. Also at the event, patrons can buy pop culture collectibles from the 50's, 60's & 70's, a ton of vintage clothing, outstanding glassware and old radios from the 1930's, turn-of-the-century furniture (almost 200 booths), movie memorabilia, collectible toys and sports memorabilia. For the more classic collector be sure to look for sterling silver pieces, Tiffany glass, bronzes, paintings and Native American artifacts and of course toys from the 1880's to the 1960's and much more. Home decorators can find furniture in American, European, 1890s golden oak, mahogany and country styles. Every seven years or so the Antique & Collectible Show is held during Halloween, this year expect to see exhibitors in costume! As you can imagine, antique dealers have a lot of resources for dressing up - and this is a great resource for the public looking for a last minute costume idea! There is even a contest for the vendors for best costumes and outfits, so they go all out, dressing in period outfits or whatever they have at hand (sometimes it's quite outlandish). So on Saturday, expect to see some creatively dressed dealers! Expert appraisers, several of whom have worked on The Antiques Roadshow will give patrons a verbal evaluation of the market value of a family treasure. The cost per item is $5.00 and all proceeds go to the Portland Police's Food Bank, The Sunshine Division. It's recommended to bring photos in of larger items. Produced by Palmer Wirfs & Associates, The Expo Antique & Collectible Show will be held at the Portland Expo Center, Portland, OR. Hours are Sat. 9 a.m - 6 p.m. and Sun. 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Admission is $7 and is good for both days. For additional information call (503) 282-0877 or visit www.palmerwirfs.com
